Overview of Program
Senator Melinda Bush’s re-election campaign is seeking motivated, organized, hardworking students and recent graduates for our fellowship and internship program beginning in July of 2020.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, digital and phone organizing will be more important than ever. Our fellowship/internship program will give participants a unique opportunity to work with Senator Melinda Bush and her team to get her message out to voters in non-traditional ways. 2020 will be an excellent learning experience for young organizers who want to sharpen their digital organizing and remote working skill sets. Participants will also learn the inside workings of a dynamic campaign while making valuable contacts for future career endeavors.
Part-time and full-time positions are available. Fellows and interns who demonstrate strong leadership, communication skills, and attention to detail will be given additional responsibilities as the campaign moves forward. In many cases academic credit can be given.
Fellowship positions are available to recent college graduates and college students. Fellows will be given special assignments and leadership roles. These tasks include donor research, graphic design, data analysis, voter contact, finance, field targeting projects, and more. Fellows are required to work at least 20 hours per week.
Internship positions are available to college and high school students. Interns will primarily be responsible for delivering our campaign message to voters in different forms and venues and spearheading voter-registration efforts. Interns are required to work at least 10 hours per week.
